GOLF lessons

At the start of Term 2, we participated in some golf lessons with SNAG Golf. We learnt lots of new skills and had a lot of fun! Check out our pictures below.

Mindfulness

This term, we are completing a Mindfulness course with Gabriela. We sit in a circle, close our eyes and focus on our breathing, while enjoying the present moment. We also have a journal where we record our thoughts, feelings and goals from the week.

Mini Projects

These children have been busy conducting science experiments each week for their drive time projects. They have been taking photos each week and writing up their experiments - here are some photos of them presenting their work to the class.

Road Safety Week

Road Safety week saw lots of students and teachers from Sunnybrae battling the wet weather conditions to walk to school! It was fun walking to school with our teachers (even though we got wet). We also enjoyed wearing our bright clothing to school - 'be bright, be seen'

Drive Time - origami project

Allan, Maile and Nuri have been busy creating origami masterpieces! Here is them presenting a few of their pieces of work to the class. They used Youtube clips as motivation - have you tried doing origami lately? It's loads of fun and keeps kids entertained for HOURS :)

Art project: Quilling

Jacqueline, Hiba and Te Awerangi spent a lot of time curling up strips of paper to create this fantastic piece of art. This process is called 'quilling'. Haven't they done a fantastic job?

Check out Joseph's finished drive time project! He constructed a cardboard house from scratch using recycled cardboard and popsicle sticks. He then painted it using vibrant colours!

We are celebrating these children's learning as they have all made a big improvement with their recent basic facts testing! Well done.

Maths success: Joseph & Emily

Joseph and Emily have been working so hard to learn their basic facts that they now know all of them off by heart! What a fantastic improvement since Term 1 :)

Science Fun!

We have been learning about science around us and different forces. On the second to last day of Term 1, Mrs Knight set up some materials in the hall and we had a play around. We had to write an 'I wonder' question and a hypothesis before carrying out our science experiment. Check out some of the pictures of us having a go! Thanks Mrs Knight :)
